DANA POINT
The City Council on Tuesday voted 4 to 1 to approve a conceptual plan for a five-acre park in an area between Stonehill Drive and Quail Run. Councilman Harold R. Kaufman dissented.
The $5.1-million plan calls for a park with a path, wildflowers and trees that may also include picnic tables and benches in the future.
However, the city will need to negotiate with homeowners and the county--who own a small portion of the land--for the right to develop the park. Dana Point owns 4.5 acres of the property.
