TUSTIN
Irene Thomas, a community liaison at Hewes Middle School in North Tustin, was selected as the 2000 Classified Employee of the Year by the Tustin Unified School District. Thomas was recognized for her dedication to parents and students and her diligent advocacy efforts, officials said.
