LA PALMA

The City Council voted to change the annual La Palma Days parade from a three-day event to one day at a special council meeting this week.

The council based its decision on recommendations from Recreation Department officials and community leaders who felt scaling down the event would save the city resources.

The one-day event will feature a two-hour band review and community parade. A beauty pageant, providing scholarships to teenage contestants, will also be a part of the event.
