Imad Baba scored two goals, including an overtime strike, as the New England Revolution defeated D.C. United, 2-1, on Saturday night in front of 15,174 at Foxboro, Mass., for its first victory.

On the winning goal, Baba took a short pass from William Sunsing and cracked a six-yard shot off the left post, cleanly beating goalkeeper Tom Prestus.

“I just wanted to get it on goal,” Baba said. “I made a late run and yelled for it--I’m not sure he even saw me, but he laid it off beautifully. I never saw the ball go in. I just saw it hit the post.”
