A man wanted in the shooting death of a Lancaster teenager surrendered Thursday, authorities said.

Tremaine Burt, 23, of Lancaster was booked at the Los Angeles County sheriff’s Walnut station on suspicion of murder, said Deputy Bruce Thomas. He is being held in lieu of $1-million bail.

Burt is suspected of attacking Timothy Jackson, 19, on March 26, Thomas said. Jackson was shot more than once and later died at a hospital.

Last week sheriff’s deputies released Burt’s photograph.

“We had no idea where he was,” Thomas said.

Burt turned himself in to his attorney in Upland.

Homicide detectives are still investigating the shooting and have not disclosed a possible motive, he said.
