Curt Schilling, pitching under the watchful eye of Philadelphia General Manager Ed Wade, threw eight solid innings for Class A Clearwater on Thursday night at St. Petersburg, Fla.

Schilling gave up one run and four hits on 91 pitches against the St. Petersburg Devil Rays in his fourth and final rehabilitation start in the Florida State League.

“When I’m right, this is how I pitch,” Schilling said. “I was happy with my breaking stuff tonight. My command of my fastball was iffy, but now maybe it’s time to take that last step.”
