Smoking Out a Hotel Trend

TIMES STAFF AND WIRES

Selected nonsmoking rooms have become standard in many hotels. A handful of others, such as San Francisco’s Hotel Vintage Court, ban smoking everywhere: guest rooms, lobbies and other public areas. Now a small California hotel group has gone entirely nonsmoking.

The group is the Redwood City-based Woodside Hotels & Resorts, whose six California hotels include Bodega Bay Lodge & Spa in Bodega Bay, Half Moon Bay Lodge in Half Moon Bay, Lafayette Park Hotel in Lafayette, Monterey Plaza Hotel & Spa in Monterey, Napa Valley Lodge in Yountville and the Stanford Park Hotel in Menlo Park. All are rated Four Diamonds by AAA. Smoking is banned in guest rooms and in public areas. Tel. (800) 368-2468, Internet https://www.woodsidehotels.com.
