Road Work to Close Part of 210 Freeway

Two lanes of the 210 Freeway near the Golden State Freeway will be closed today through Friday for construction, officials said.

Crews will close an inbound and an outbound lane of the Foothill Freeway near its connection to the Golden State and Antelope Valley freeways.

One westbound lane will be closed from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. from Astoria Street to Glenoaks Boulevard. One eastbound lane will be closed from Glenoaks Boulevard to Astoria Street from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. While workers are on the freeway, two lanes in each direction will be open. All lanes will be open between 5 p.m. and 6 a.m.

“We’ve worked this project complaint-free for a few weeks,” Caltrans spokeswoman Ivy Estrada said. “So I don’t think it’s causing too much trouble with commuter traffic. Usually that means people have either found their own detour routes, or the work is not blocking things up too much.”

Sun Valley-based Security Paving Co. began the $3.7-million median drainage project Feb. 23 and expects to finish by December.
