* Carlos E. Limon; Camarillo Church Gardener

Carlos E. Limon of Camarillo, a church gardener, died Saturday at his home with his family at his side. He was 76.

He was born Nov. 3, 1923, in Moyahua, Zacatecas, Mexico, and lived in Ventura County for 43 years.

Limon was a gardener at St. Mary Magdalen Church and School in Camarillo for nearly 20 years. For the past 10 years, he was gardener for Padre Serra parish in Camarillo.

Family members said Limon always had a positive attitude, warm heart, great sense of humor and a beautiful smile. They said he will also be remembered for his salsa.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Marina; sons Alberto and Carlos Jr.; daughter Teresa Edsall, all of Ventura County; brothers Roque and Jose, and sister Mercedes Rodriguez of Mexico, and eight grandchildren.

Mass is scheduled at 10 a.m. today at St. Mary Magdalen Chapel in Camarillo.

Burial will follow at Santa Clara Cemetery in Oxnard.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to either Catholic Charities Ministries for the Poor, c/o St. Mary Magdalen Church or to the Padre Serra Parish building fund.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Pierce Bros. Griffin Mortuary in Camarillo.
