The City Council gave city staff the go-ahead last week to create “no-parking” zones of up to 500 feet without having to get council approval first.

City Manager William Talley said the staff had requested permission to designate the no-parking zones after receiving a number of requests from residents. Talley said most callers were concerned about people parking too close to corners and obstructing drivers’ views as they navigate the intersections.
