Eco-Art Walk Will Celebrate Earth Day

Eco-Art Walk, a free event in celebration of Earth Day, will be held today from 1 to 10 p.m. in downtown Ventura.

Art displays, dance performances, music and children’s art activities will be presented at 78 participating businesses, galleries and museums mostly along Main and Santa Clara streets, beginning at the west end of the city and working east to Kalorama Street.

Maps, schedules and shuttle routes will be available at information booths set up at the intersection of Santa Clara and California streets, and Main Street and California.

A sampling of activities:

“Mud Woman II” will be presented in the window of For Your Home Furniture, 443 E. Main St., from 6 to 10 p.m. The performance depicts the evolution of the female artist through the ages as a “weaver of destiny and life.”

Children and teens will display self-portraits and nature prints at Kid’s Art Studio and Gallery/Teen Dreams, 34 N. Palm St.

The Santa Clara Stage on Santa Clara Street near California Street will feature international sounds from 1 to 6 p.m. and blues from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
