Harbor Patrol Finds Fisherman’s Body
The body of a fisherman who fell off a boat last month was recovered Tuesday morning by the Ventura Harbor Patrol, authorities said.
Mike Jamison, 47, fell into the water just outside the harbor July 20 while dumping excess bait from the commercial vessel High Rise. His body was found about 9 a.m. Tuesday next to a jetty inside the breakwater.
Coroner’s officials said the cause of death was asphyxia by drowning. Authorities r called it an accident.
Jamison of Oak View was a 15-year fisherman who hunted lobster and crab with his best friend, Ray Chambers, skipper of the High Rise. Jamison is survived by his wife, brother, sister and niece.
