Wellness Community Gets $25,000 Grant
Wellness Community Valley/Ventura received a $25,000 grant from the Fanny and Svante Knistrom Foundation to help fund and expand its general programs. The nonprofit organization offers free emotional support and educational services for cancer patients and their family members. Wellness Community Valley/Ventura serves about 600 people monthly at its main facility in Westlake Village and satellite offices in Camarillo.
Special Education Students Win Scholarships
Special Education Advisory Committee announced the winners of its annual high school senior scholarship program, which honors special education students for outstanding efforts and achievements. The winners are Derrick Delgado, Tiffany Olszewski and Margarita Tapia, all of Apollo High School in Simi Valley; Ronald Turner and Maria Northland, both of Santa Susana High School in Simi Valley; and Dana Thomsen of Simi Valley High School.
