SAG Files Against Bush Consultant

The Screen Actors Guild filed an unfair labor practices complaint Tuesday against a media consulting firm for Republican presidential nominee George W. Bush in a dispute over its reported use of nonunion actors to shoot campaign ads.
SAG says the firm reneged on a commitment to produce Bush campaign commercials only under the terms of a union-approved “interim agreement” that allows union actors to perform while on strike against the advertising industry.
In its complaint with the National Labor Relations Board, the union accused the Stevens & Schriefer Group of refusing to “bargain in good faith.” Neither the Bush campaign nor Stevens & Schriefer responded to requests for comment.
