Election Filing Deadline Extended
Scores of political hopefuls from San Clemente to La Habra are rushing to meet filing deadlines for the November election.
In many races, last Friday’s deadline was extended to Wednesday. The additional time is allowed in races where incumbents did not file, giving nonincumbents a grace period for filing.
Information on the status of filings for city and school district races can be obtained from the Orange County registrar’s Web site, www.oc.ca.gov/election. Click on “candidates/measures” to get complete information on who has requested nomination papers and who has filed them.
