LAGUNA BEACH
The Laguna Beach County Water District recently appointed a new member who pledged to use her legal skills to help the agency explore halting its pending consolidation with the city.
On Wednesday, the district board unanimously chose Susan M. Trager, an Irvine-based attorney, to join its ranks. Trager is the first woman to serve on the 75-year-old board.
“I can offer my experience, energy and willingness to work hard to help the district through a tough time,” Trager told the board before she was appointed, referring to the proposed November merger.
Trager, a Laguna Beach resident, replaces board member Joseph Sweany, who died last month.
