Tribune Interactive Names General Manager for L.A.

* Tribune Interactive has named Steven Barth, director of online classified sales at Latimes.com, general manager of its local interactive operations in Los Angeles, including its flagship Web site Latimes.com. Tribune Interactive is a division of Chicago-based Tribune Co., a multimedia company that owns the Los Angeles Times.

* Rossina Gellegos has been promoted to vice president at Union Bank of California. She will be based at the bank’s California Mart office in downtown Los Angeles. She will be responsible for expanding the bank’s Urban Enterprise Banking portfolio, which focuses on providing commercial credit facilities to minority- and women-owned businesses.

* Patrick J. Duffy has joined executive search firm Gary Kaplan & Associates in Pasadena as vice president. Duffy is a former director of human resources at Atlantic Richfield Co.

* Countrywide Home Loans Inc. has promoted Stephen Douglass to executive vice president of marketing. Douglass will oversee product and price reporting and primary and secondary market research at the Calabasas-based lender.

* ESat Inc., a Los Angeles-based broadband Internet service provider, has named Bruce Elbert executive vice president and president of Asian operations. He will be responsible for the overall management of ESat’s Asian operations and will be a member of ESat’s executive management team. Elbert formerly served as director of Hughes Space & Communications’ Galaxy satellite network system.
