* Goleta National Bank has named George Tabata as regional vice president and commercial loan officer at its Ventura branch. He will focus on generating new commercial banking relationships, and increasing loans and deposits.

Tabata has been assistant vice president and a vice president and commercial loan officer at five other banks in Southern California.

* Nancy Strouse has been named senior director of development at California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks. She was director of advancement and alumni relations, as well as an adjunct professor, at Pepperdine University.

Strouse has a bachelor’s degree in social science from California State Polytechnic University in Pomona and a master’s degree in educational computing from Pepperdine.

* Matthew Patera has been named vice president of materials at EOS Corp. in Camarillo.

EOS sells miniature power supplies to the computing, communications and medical markets.

Patera will oversee the daily operations of EOS’ local and offshore manufacturing facilities, managing materials procurement, manufacturing and shipping. He joins EOS from Electroservice Laboratories of Ventura, where he served as general manager.

* AML Communications Inc. in Camarillo has appointed Karl Brier as chief financial officer and treasurer.

Brier will manage the company’s accounting, finance and human resource departments. He previously was a vice president at Silicon Valley Bank.

While at Silicon Valley Bank, Brier was involved in financing several successful start-up and high-tech companies in Southern California. Prior to joining the bank in 1996, he was a corporate banker with Union Bank of California.
