Woman Dies After Auto, Pickup Collide
A woman was killed late Sunday when her car collided with a pickup truck on Laguna Canyon Road in Laguna Beach, officials said.
Roberta Jean Proppe of Laguna Beach was pronounced dead at the scene by the Laguna Beach Fire Department shortly after the 10:12 p.m. accident. A passenger in her Mercury Sable was taken to South Coast Medical Center after complaining of pain. The driver of the truck was uninjured.
Police said the driver of the pickup truck was traveling east on Laguna Canyon Road and was approaching Woodland Drive when Proppe’s vehicle pulled into the intersection. The driver of the truck was unable to stop and crashed into the driver’s side of the car. The area of the accident was closed for more than two hours.
