VENTURA — Four people, including two children, were injured when a car allegedly rear-ended a van Saturday afternoon on California 126, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred about 5:40 p.m. , just west of Wells Road, authorities said.
Authorities believe the driver of a westbound compact car may have struck the van from behind, sending it across the center divider and causing it to roll.
A Santa Paula woman and her two children, all in the van, were taken to Ventura County Medical Center in Ventura. Authorities said one of the children was ejected and suffered major injuries.
The driver of the car, a Los Angeles man, was treated for minor injuries and arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs.
The identities were not immediately released. The crash forced the closure of one lane in each direction for several hours.
