Aqua Line Subway
Re “Signs Point to Westside Transit Mystery,” Aug. 16: Wow, an underground art movement called Heavy Trash develops a transit line that would serve everyone from Ocean Avenue to downtown L.A. Obviously, it’s too good to be true: A subway line like that would just be too efficient.
Many of the delegates commented on what an amazing underground rail system we have in L.A. If only they knew its limitations, thanks to the MTA, the Bus Riders Union and ill-informed voters. Heavy Trash may be a far-reaching dream but what a dream--compared to the nightmare that is the reality of L.A. public transit.

* I was suspicious of the picture of the Aqua Line billboard, particularly since the supposed transit map is in a straight line. This may be the way to engineer a system, but no self-respecting politician would allow that!
