Sophie Gustafson began the final round of the Women’s British Open at Southport, England, with a seven-stroke lead and was nine shots in front after one hole.

The championship still came down to the 18th on Sunday.

After giving away nearly all of her lead, Gustafson made a five-foot birdie putt at the last hole to finish her two-over-par 75 and wrap up the title by two strokes over a group of four golfers.

“This is my biggest thrill in golf, easily, but it is also a big relief,” Gustafson said. “It was a bit tougher than I expected it to be but it is very nice to have come through to win.”
