St. Louis rapper Nelly enjoyed his second week at No. 1 on the nation’s album chart with “Country Grammar,” which repeated its previous week’s sales total of 135,000, according to SoundScan. Nelly is followed in the Top 10 by Britney Spears, Eminem and “Now That’s What I Call Music, Vol. 4,” a compilation of recent hits.
The Source magazine’s awards show in Pasadena was closed down by a brawl Tuesday night, but the publication also got some good news: An album spotlighting DMX, Jay-Z, Dr. Dre, Eminem and other winners was the only record to enter the Top 40. “The Source Hip-Hop Awards 2000” came in at No. 19 with sales of 53,000.
