Fire Guts Restaurant in Westchester

Fire gutted a Westchester restaurant near the Los Angeles International Airport on Friday evening, forcing the evacuation of the eatery, fire officials said.

City firefighters received a call at 8:32 p.m. The restaurant, called Paco’s Tacos, is in the 8300 block of Lincoln Boulevard.

Authorities believe that the fire may have started on the roof, possibly in the vent area, said spokesman Bob Collis of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Arson investigators will be scrutinizing the scene for any sign of foul play.

Late Friday night, officials believed the flames had been contained to the restaurant, where the roof had partially collapsed. Almost 100 firemen battled the blaze, which had not been completely extinguished late Friday, Collis said.

There were no injuries, he said.
