Michigan quarterback Drew Henson will miss at least the first three games of the season because of a broken right foot.

Henson also might miss the fourth and fifth games--including a Big Ten showdown against No. 4 Wisconsin on Sept. 30--but he should be able to return after that, Dr. Edward Wojtys, who performed the surgery, said.

It was previously thought Henson would only miss the Sept. 2 opener against Bowling Green, but he’ll be sidelined for a Sept. 9 game against Rice and a Sept. 16 game against UCLA at the Rose Bowl. John Navarre will start in his place.
