Grocery Campaign Benefits Schools
Brookside Elementary School in Oak Park and Mira Monte Elementary School in Ojai are two of the campuses that have benefited from a fund-raising campaign sponsored by the Vons/Pavilions grocery chain.
Vons/Pavilions announced Friday that it has donated more than $460,000 to schools and community groups in Ventura, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo and Monterey counties.
Through the eScrip program, customers can make contributions to schools and charities when they shop. Schools or community groups sign up to participate in eScrip, and Vons makes a donation to the organization of the customer’s choice.
Organizations that have received funds include Colina Middle School in Thousand Oaks, Temple Beth Haverim, the Moorpark High School band and Royal High School’s dance guard boosters.
