Toronto pitching coach Dave Stewart had to be restrained in the Blue Jay dugout during an argument with reliever John Frascatore on Saturday night at Arlington, Texas.

Stewart was physically held back from going after Frascatore by coach Lee Elia and catcher Alberto Castillo before the eighth inning.

Cameras showed an angry Stewart exchanging words with someone out of sight in the tunnel leading to the Toronto dugout. After the game Stewart confirmed he was yelling at Frascatore.

“John can never have my information again,” Stewart said. “John knows it all. Let him figure it out. From now on John Frascatore is a pitching coach for himself.”

Stewart said the argument was over pitch selection. Frascatore refused to say what precipitated it.
