Walker Makes Up Ground in Points Race
Ben Walker of Santa Clarita won the 75-lap NASCAR super late model race, taking the lead on the fifth lap and finishing more than four seconds in front of Tommy Fry before a crowd of 4,899 at Irwindale Speedway on Saturday night.
The win was Walker’s sixth of the year. He now trails series leader and Saturday’s third-place finisher, Greg Voigt of Santa Barbara, by 44 points. The championship will be decided in the next two weeks.
