Ban Dodge Ball
* Re “Gym Game Is Unable to Dodge School Policy Shifts,” Nov. 26: Our sense of civic duty is deteriorating, and here is a game that encourages the strong to target and eliminate the weak. What values are we teaching our children with a game where the strongest kids throw a ball as hard as they can, attempting to hit the weakest ones? I applaud the efforts to ban dodge ball.
Today I run four miles a day and enjoy individual sports. Yet, because I was one of those smaller children, I still have terrible memories of the game.
