UC San Diego, which last played Irvine in 1977, has just moved up to Division II. Freshman guard Cameron Jackson, formerly of Tustin High, has started all five games for the Tritons. Senior forward Ben Jones leads Irvine in scoring (16.2 points) and is shooting 56% from the floor. Junior guard Jerry Green has a team-high 10 steals, and senior swingman Sean Jackson has made seven of 11 three-point shots.
