Six From Park Hospitalized
A group of young adults who became ill and fell unconscious on a Disneyland parking-lot tram were rushed to the hospital Friday evening and were listed in moderate to serious condition, according to police and paramedics.
The incident, which Anaheim police are investigating as a potential drug overdose, occurred at 7:13 p.m., outside the theme park, officials said. Paramedics had received a call that two people were unconscious and vomiting on a tram that was making its way from a parking lot to the theme park.
Paramedics arrived to find a group of six people who were unconscious or lethargic on the tram. One of the group was a juvenile, and the rest were young adults, said Danielle Craig, a communications supervisor for Metronet Fire.
Paramedics spoke with the group and thought the illness was caused by “suspected drug activity,” authorities said. Three in the group were taken to Western Medical Center in Anaheim, and three were taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange, Craig said.
A Disneyland spokesman could not be reached.
