Pacifica Media Appoints New Executives to Run TV Division

Burbank-based Pacifica Media Affiliates, an independent post-production sound company, has named a number of executives to run its TV division Pacifica Sound Group.

Joseph Melody will serve as chief executive of Pacifica Sound Group. He served 11 years as president of Echo Sound Services before it was acquired by PMA in July 1999.

In addition, former Echo Sound executive G. Michael Graham was named president of Pacifica Sound Group; Sue Jesse was named vice president of scheduling and packaging operations; Wayne Gordon was tapped as senior vice president of studio facilities; Timothy Borquez was named president Pacifica/Digital; Richard Ellis and Matt Preble have been named vice presidents of sales and marketing; and Mark Friedgen was tapped as director of editorial services.

* FitzGerald Communications Inc. has appointed Christine La Monte executive vice president and general manager of its newly opened Los Angeles office. She is a former executive in Rogers & Cowan’s motion picture group.

* Santa Monica-based Scanz Communications, a maker of a hand-held wireless portable electronic video display device, has named two new executives. Steven Gary Saltman has been named vice president, operations. He is a former talent agency executive. And Charles Sander has been tapped as vice president, aviation security sales. He joins the company from Tyco International.

* George Hung has been named to the newly created position of director of sales for WorldLink International, a Los Angeles-based infomercial and direct-response sales firm. He recently was a director of international business development at the Frederiksen Group.

* Brian Pope has been promoted to vice president, marketing services, at Universal Studios Hollywood, responsible for developing marketing plans for major new product programs at the theme park.
