Re “Dirty Details Confront Secession Supporters,” Jan. 23.
You can do better. The [San Fernando] Valley is going to secede. Smelly scare tactics are demeaning to us. We own a section of all facilities paid for by years of taxation. These numbers when properly brought out will be impressive. You would do well to address the ownership rights of Valley citizens in general facilities in a positive way.

The Times is wrong when it contends that the reason Valley citizens want to separate from Los Angeles is because of sewer fees. That may have been one of the initial complaints but no one I know ever mentions sewer fees as a reason to separate from the city.
The Times ought to access the Valley VOTE [Voters Organized Toward Empowerment] Web site, as I did, to learn of the many complaints.
