Waiting for a connecting flight at Northwest Airlines hubs will soon mean less time for settling down with a good book--at least for travelers who gauge their mood by the direction of the Dow.

Stockwalk.com Inc. said recently that it will provide market news and investment trading terminals in Northwest’s WorldClubs lounges for business travelers.

A three-month trial, featuring dedicated Stockwalk.com online trading plus news and information access, is expected to be introduced April 1 for WorldClubs members traveling in Minneapolis-St. Paul, Detroit and Memphis.

Minneapolis-based Stockwalk.com and Northwest said they will determine whether to expand the trial to other domestic WorldClubs locations.

“We believe WorldClubs members will find Stockwalk.com trading terminals a valuable amenity and another reason to spend time in the WorldClubs,” Stockwalk.com Chief Executive Randy Nitzsche said.

WorldClubs membership, an additional service, provides frequent travelers with private workstations, computers, Internet access, meeting rooms and other amenities.

“The Stockwalk.com terminals will allow our most valued clients the opportunity to keep up with the business world when they are away from their offices and homes,” said Judy Brandt, director of WorldClubs for the Eagan, Minn.-based airline.

There will be no charge for WorldClubs members who visit the Stockwalk.com site for news and information, Nitzsche said. Charges are incurred only when members open an account and trade online.
