SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO
The Planning Commission voted at its meeting Tuesday to approve a proposed 84-unit affordable apartment complex for senior citizens near Rancho Viejo Road.
The $12-million elderly housing project will include 62 one-bedroom apartments, 16 two-bedroom apartments and six studios on a two-acre parcel at 27191 Paseo Espada.
Westlake Village-based Willow Partners LLC is developing the project to meet the high demand for senior housing in San Juan Capistrano.
Rent would range from $510 to $920 per month for seniors whose income is less than 50% of the Orange County median income.
The City Council is scheduled to vote March 7.
