SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO
The city and the Orange County Fire Department are offering residents sandbags to prepare for winter storms.
Since last week, residents have been able pick up 25 bags each from the Orange County Fire Department Station No. 7 at 31865 Del Obispo St.
Residents need to fill their own bags at the San Juan Capistrano library, where the sand is stocked in the parking lot. The giveaway will end in mid-April.
City Public Works Manager Jack Galaviz said nearly 1,500 sandbags are given away in the annual program.
