* All Saints Episcopal Church of Oxnard will begin the new year today with a 10 a.m. Holy Eucharist service.

Sunday worship services will be at 8 and 11 a.m., with a 9:30 a.m. Spanish service.

Christian education classes on Sunday will include a 9:30 a.m. adult Bible study led by the Rev. Warren V. Porter and a 10:30 a.m. program for children led by Sunday school Supt. Cindy Morales.

On Tuesday, a Christian Spirituality meeting will be held in Parish Hall at 7:15 p.m.

A Holy Eucharist service will be held in Our Lady of Guadalupe Chapel on Wednesday at 6 p.m.

There will be a Bible study class Thursday at 1:30 p.m. and choir rehearsal in Our Lady of Guadalupe Chapel from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Sermon on Relationships * First Presbyterian Church of Oxnard will hold a worship service Sunday at 10 a.m. Pastor James K. Bain Jr. will deliver the sermon, “Strengthening Relationships,” based on Ecclesiastes 3:1-7.

The church will begin the new year with the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper and will celebrate Epiphany.

There will be Sunday school for youths during the worship service. Adult Sunday school will be at 9 a.m.

Communion Service for New Year * St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Oxnard will begin the first Sunday of the new year with a worship celebration at 10:15 a.m. Communion will be taken, and the Rev. Alan P. Gorsline will preach. As is the custom on Communion Sundays, the children will not leave to go to their Sunday school classrooms but will attend the entire worship service.

The Japanese Ministry will not have a service. It will join the English-language Communion service at 10:15 a.m.

Public Invited to Screening * Pastor Tim Beal and the congregation of Emmanuel Church in Thousand Oaks invite the community to view a free family film titled “A Vow to Cherish” at 7 p.m. Jan. 8.

Ken Howard, Barbara Babcock and Ossie Davis lead a cast in portraying the challenges faced by a Christian family when the mother is diagnosed with a devastating illness.

This film--released by World Wide Pictures, the motion picture ministry of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Assn.--provides a look at the power of love.

‘Celebrate Live’ Is Theme * Unity Center Church will meet at Old Meadows Park community room in Thousand Oaks on Jan. 9 at 10 a.m. The Rev. Irma Oestmann will give the inspirational message, “Celebrate Live,” with Estaban Ramirez providing contemporary music. Children are invited to attend a children’s church, which meets in the upper room. Child care is provided.

Author to Speak on Intimacy * The Conejo Jewish Academy in Agoura Hills will host a lecture by Rivka Slonim at 8 p.m. Jan. 10.

Slonim is a nationally known teacher, lecturer and author who has traveled the world addressing traditional Jewish observance and contemporary life. As the author of “Total Immersion--A Mikvah Anthology,” Slonim offers information about spiritual family purity and its direct influence on marital intimacy and harmony.

The title of the lecture is “The Sexual and the Sacred--Thoughts on Marital Intimacy and Harmony.”

The lecture is for married couples. Space is limited. Reservations can be made by calling (818) 991-0991. Tickets are $10 with reservations and $12 at the door. The academy is at 30345 Canwood St.

Fellowship’s January Services * Channel Islands Vineyard Christian Fellowship in Oxnard will have Sunday services in January at 9 and 11 a.m. with contemporary music and casual dress. Services will be led by Pastor Bill Coulter.
