Barbara-Ann Mrvichin; Buena High School Teacher
Barbara-Ann Mrvichin, a Spanish teacher at Buena High School for six years, died Wednesday at a Ventura hospital following a sudden illness.
She was 53.
Mrvichin was born Dec. 25, 1946, in Staten Island, N.Y. She lived in Ventura County for 17 years.
She enjoyed cooking healthy meals and taking care of her family.
Mrvichin is survived by her husband of 22 years, Draza, son Vladimir and daughter Lucy, all of Ventura; and her mother, Lucia Sabbagh, and brother, Charles Sabbagh, both of Monterey Park.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Ted Mayr Funeral Home in Ventura. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Nicholas Ceko of St. Stevens Cathedral officiating. Private burial will take place at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, Ventura.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mrvichin Scholarship Fund, c/o St. Stevens Cathedral, 1621 W. Garvey Ave., Alhambra, 91803.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Ted Mayr Funeral Home.
