A new stoplight at Moulton Parkway and Aliso Niguel Road, which will help meet the expected traffic demands from a new subdivision, received the City Council’s approval Tuesday.

The light, expected to be installed in the next two years, will serve residents of the new San Joaquin Hills community, which will contain 1,000 single-family homes, said Dave Rogers, city traffic engineer.

The council asked the Traffic Commission to review the need for a stoplight at Pacific Island and Club House drives, after receiving phone calls from residents concerned about the intersection.
