Alternative plans to a proposed 175-room hotel project near the San Gabriel River channel were presented at a meeting hosted by the Riverbeach Homeowners Assn. on Tuesday.
Along with a historical overview of the Department of Water and Power vacant property, Mayor Paul Yost presented plans for a wilderness park. Councilman Shawn Boyd, although supportive of the park, presented plans for a residential area on 30% of the site. Currently, the property is zoned for 30% commercial use with the rest to be used for park recreation. The property is valued at $3.5 million.
