A report analyzing the environmental impacts of a proposed water pipeline and sewer system intended for the planned residential community on the Bolsa Chica mesa can be reviewed at the Central Library at 7111 Talbert Ave.

Developer Hearthside Homes intends to build more than 1,200 residences on the mesa. To serve their needs, Hearthside requested that Southern California Water Co. build a waste-water facility and a 6.5-mile underground pipe that will originate in Cypress.

The California Public Utilities Commission must approve the plans before construction can begin. The commission’s report considers the potential danger of sewage spills and the risk of disrupting wildlife.
