Storr to Get Some Real Work

Share

The time for video games is over and goalie Jamie Storr goes onto the ice tonight at Long Beach to try to see where his hockey game really is.

Storr, who suffered a concussion on Dec. 11 at Montreal, has been working with Sports Trac, a computer program assigned him by Dr. Michael Mellman, to determine the state of his hand-eye coordination and concentration as part of the rehabilitation process.

“He’s used it with baseball players too,” said Storr, who will face Michigan in an IHL game. “You get a score, one to 100, and if you have about the same numbers most of the time, it means you are concentrating.”

After tonight’s game, Storr will rejoin the Kings in San Jose on Saturday night as a backup to Stephane Fiset against the Sharks, and Marcel Cousineau will be sent to the Ice Dogs.

Winger Donald Audette is going to try to skate today for the first time since suffering a sprained ankle in a Jan. 6 game against Florida.
