The Las Virgenes Unified School District is investigating a confrontation that took place Wednesday between the junior varsity boys’ basketball coach at Calabasas High and a player.
Coach Jerry Jones was involved in a confrontation with one of his players, but he did not strike him, said Deborah Coleman, the assistant superintendent of personnel services for the school district.
“No student was struck,” Coleman said Friday. “There was a confrontation between the coach and the student and that’s what we’re investigating.”
A published report said Jones allegedly had hit a player.
Jon Jones, a sergeant with the Lost Hills Sheriff Station, said an investigation was being conducted but declined to give out any other information.
