The city may once again have the enviable task of figuring out what to do with a $1.6-million budget surplus.
The Finance Department has predicted a surplus for this fiscal year in its January budget review. The news came just as the City Council began deciding whether to spend last year’s $1.5-million surplus on purchasing parks, repairing roads, or adding to its coffers.
