Sunday 9:30 a.m., Channel 2

* How they got here: Tennessee defeated Buffalo, 22-16, in a wild-card game and defeated Indianapolis, 19-16, in a divisional playoff game. Jacksonville routed Miami, 62-7, in a divisional playoff game.

* 1999 meetings: Tennessee won the season series, 2-0. The Titans used a late touchdown pass from Neil O’Donnell and a goal-line stand in the final 90 seconds to defeat the Jaguars, 20-19, Sept. 26. On Dec. 26, Steve McNair threw a career-high five touchdown passes and the Titans routed the Jaguars, 41-14.

* About Tennessee: The Titans will play in the franchise’s first conference title game in 20 years. But can they beat the Jaguars three times in one season with an erratic offense? The defense played well Sunday, containing quarterback Peyton Manning. They’ll need to do it again to beat Jacksonville.

* About Jacksonville: The Jaguars pulled off enough spectacular plays while routing Miami to stake their claim as a Super Bowl favorite. But both losses this season came to Tennessee. “It certainly will be part of our thinking,” Coach Tom Coughlin said. “There’s no way around it. It happened. That will make us very humble.”
