Most of the remaining 379 trees in the Quail Creek community will survive a two-month renovation, said landscape architect David Rolfe. But about 70 to 80 more trees must be removed to save the deteriorating landscape, he said. Last week, about 40 residents protesting the upheaval of 645 trees asked the City Council to save the rest of the woods-like setting. Tonight they will again express their concerns to the Quail Creek Homeowners Assn. board. Rolfe said the board chose to renovate the entire landscape all at once instead of removing the trees gradually.
