Vandals Deface Lancaster Synagogue
An Antelope Valley synagogue was found vandalized with swastikas and anti-Semitic rhetoric Monday, but authorities said they did not know who was responsible for the attack.
The incident took place at Congregation Beth Knesset Bamidbar, 1611 E. Ave. J, either late Sunday night or early Monday morning, said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Sgt. Daniel Belland of the Lancaster substation.
“They didn’t burglarize it,” Belland said. “But [investigators] found graffiti in the entryway, including the walls, door and a display case. There were swastikas, pentagrams and hate-related statements.”
Belland said the hate-filled scrawl included the statement, “Jews Get Out of Town.”
