On Methyl Bromide Hearings

The decision by Paul Helliker, director of the state Department of Pesticide Regulation, to hold methyl bromide hearings only in Salinas, Fresno County and Ontario precludes most Ventura County residents from attending.
As Helliker well knows from his recent Ventura County tour, our problems with pesticides are manifold and increasing, with new schools and housing developments being pushed up to the edge of, and into, agricultural land at an alarming rate.
We Ventura County residents deserve to be heard and our opinions counted. To that end a hearing must be held in our locality.
