Forecast Drained of Moisture

The Pacific storm that dumped rain on the area Tuesday will give way to partly cloudy skies and breezy conditions later this week as high pressure builds over the San Fernando Valley, forecasters said.

Rainfall accumulations totaled 0.53 inches at Burbank, 0.70 inches in Northridge, 0.78 inches in Woodland Hills and 0.50 inches in Van Nuys, said Amy Talmage, a meteorologist for WeatherData Inc., which provides weather forecasts for The Times.

Talmage said highs in the Valley will range from the mid-50s to low 70s with temperatures increasing as the week progresses.

Lows are expected to bottom out in the 40s. The next chance of rain, she said, is Tuesday.
