A yearlong study on improving safety and beach access along the city’s railroad corridor concluded recently when the City Council unanimously approved a panel’s findings and recommended improvements.

The city will use the Railroad Corridor Safety and Education Panel’s recommended improvements as a blueprint for several projects along the commuter tracks that run parallel to the coast.

City Manager Michael W. Parness said the city could begin working on some of the projects by the end of the year.
